Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy usually occurs in adolescents.
Autosomal dominant disorder localized on chromosome 6 with variable penetrance

CLINICAL PRESENTATION


The patient may have any one of them like absence, generalized tonic or clonic, and myoclonic seizures.
The hallmark is morning myoclonus occurring predominantly within 1 and a half hours of awakening.
Treatment
Seizures usually resolve promptly with therapy with valproic acid.
Therapy must be maintained for lifelong.
